Stories

The Story Process

There are five main components of a story within StoryReel.

  1. Creative Brief: You start the creative process by defining a creative brief for your story, e.g., the goals, audience, and value proposition for the story.
  2. Characters: The set of characters that appear in the story. You can create new characters for the story, or share characters that you've developed for other stories.
  3. Story Outline: The story outline provides the overall narrative, or plot, of the story. StoryReel can automatically generate the outline for you, or you can write it yourself.
  4. Storyboard: The story is broken down into a collection of scenes called the storyboard. Each scene in the storyboard has a title, description, and a generated image, along with other information such as video captions and narration.
  5. Video Reel: Here we assemble all of the scene images into a final video that you can play and download. You can also access a PDF overview of the story as well as a public share page for the story.

Creating a Story

To begin the process of creating a story, click on the "New Story" card on the Stories page:

New Story Card

This will pop up a dialog to let you provide a name and a summary for the story. With this information, StoryReel will generate an initial story for you.

Hint

The initial summary you provide is just a high-level description of the story. A paragraph or two should be enough to get started.

Story Overview Page

After initial story creation, you will be taken to the story overview page, which looks like:
